Cyanogen 12.1

Finally to all the Yu Yureka & Yureka+ users who have been waiting for the Yureka+ or Yureka Official Lollipop 5.1.1 update is out! 16 hours ago, the moderators announced the update on the YuPlayGod Forums. As Yu promised they have finally put up the 12.1 update which is soon being moved to OTA. For now, you can flash the official update manually using zip or fastboot.

YU has finally rolled out Cyanogen OS 12.1 update for YU Yureka and Yureka+. This update is published by an over  fallen link on the Yu Forums. For the OTA update, you may have to wait 4-5 days or even more since the Yu Team is still looking for the update to make it more stable. Here we will help you to flash COS 12.1 on your Yureka or Yureka+. This official update will update your Yu device to Android Lollipop 5.1.1

The update is for both Yu Yureka & Yureka+ so don’t worry, you can easy flash them.


Perquisites:

  • Cyanogen OS 12.1 (Fast bootable or Signed)
  • Yu Yureka or Yureka+ Device (Obviously)
  • Atleast 60% battery for easy flash (More battery will consumed while updating)
  • MAKE A BACKUP!

How to Flash CyanogenOS 12.1 (NON ROOTED)

  1. Download the update package flashable via zip from the first link in the above download links section.
  2. Copy the zip file to your external SD card in the root folder instead of putting it inside a sub folder.
    • extCard/Flashable-COS12.1.zip – This is OK
    • extCard/SomeFolder/Flashable-COS12.1.zip – This is NOT
  3. Turn OFF you device.
  4. Enter the Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button)
  5. Select on “Apply Update from SD card”.
  6. Then select the zip you copied to your external SD card.
  7. Flash the update and wait until the process gets completed! (Do not interrupt between or you may brick you device, wait for it to update!)
  8. Once update is complete, click the back button.
  9. Wipe Cache Partition to allow apps update and then reboot your device.
  10. Since its the new first boot, it will take some time to launch the screen and enter home screen of device.
  11. Voila! You now have CyanogenOS 12.1 with Lollipop 5.1.1 running on your device!

How to Flash CyanogenOS 12.1 (ROOTED)

  1. Download the update package flashable via zip from the first link in the above download links section.
  2. Copy the zip file to your external SD card in the root folder instead of putting it inside a sub folder.
    • extCard/Flashable-COS12.1.zip – This is OK
    • extCard/SomeFolder/Flashable-COS12.1.zip – This is NOT
  3. Turn OFF you device.
  4. Enter the Recovery Mode (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button)
  5. Now perform Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Wipe System Cache, Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
  6. Select on “Apply Update from SD card”.
  7. Then select the zip you copied to your external SD card.
  8. Flash the update and wait until the process gets completed! (Do not interrupt between or you may brick you device, wait for it to update!)
  9. Once flash update is complete, click the back button.
  10. Click on “Wipe Cache” once again to make sure all apps gets updated.
  11. Since its the new first boot, it will take some time than usual to load.
  12. Congo! You now have CyanogenOS 12.1 with Lollipop 5.1.1 on your device!

How to Install CyanogenOS 12.1 via Fastboot

Note: This will wipe all the data from your device!

  1. Download the Fastboot zip and unzip it in the ADB Fastboot Folder.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Now hold the Volume Up button and connect the Yu Yureka/Yureka+ via USB to your desktop.
  4. Make sure USB debugging is ON and enabled.
  5. Navigate to Fastboot device folder and Right click on flash-all.bat
  6. It will flash all the necessary files for you automatically!
  7. Wait for the process to complete.
  8. Congo! You just flash CyanogenOS 12.1 via Fastboot and your device is now running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop!

    bro i have twrp installed in my yureka, do i need to be back on cyanogen recovery or i can flash the rom with twrp process described in rooted device section??

    • You can easily flash via TWRP or Cyanogen Recovery. Both will allow you to flash with no problems!

    How can I flash it using cwm recovery?

    • Just put the ZIP in your internal or externa card and flash it
